Tiyung Dayak – “The Sour Dayak Apple” in Bidayuh Politics

For the Greater Glory of Bidayuh Politics

A ye-olde story revisited…

This is what has been told by my boss the other day. He has recalled the ye-olde caricature – it was about a cow “grazing” in the field!

Anyway, he can’t remember the details; but I’m sure that Sarawak’s veteran politicians (including apoliticians) have seen that caricature – long time ago!

So, I’ve tried my very best to depict the ye-olde caricature, which is shown below. By the way, it’s up to one’s interpretation. Remember that “a picture worth thousands of words“…

I would appreciate it if someone out there does have the ye-olde, original copy of that caricature – to be shared among the new generation of Sarawak bloggers!

The sacrificial, fat cow …

Got “no time” – at all?!

If I mention the words “no time“, let say in front of Datuk Ursula, then I’ll get the blame from her – I think so! Nah, that’s not my intention to write this article actually… Just relax!

Yes, folks! I’m sorry for being incommunicado for the past few days. Yup, whenever I’m bZzz, I just scanned through my blog and other blogs to update myself lah on current situation.

You know what, guys and gals? I have an encounter with Dr. JBA of DayakBaru.com. Yup, we were on the same flight from Kuching to Bintulu this evening. Well, in order to maintain “secrecy“, so I just stayed behind him and “not able” to say “Hi!” to him. Yup, he did mention about SADIA and SDNU to other fellow Malay guys and gals during the “Q-up“.

In another “development“, it’s a surprise for us this evening that DSAI is currently holding a dinner talk in Bintulu. It’s raining heavily, though. My informant has informed me that he has shook hand with DSAI. DSAI has lots of supporters in Bintulu, I guess! Along the road to and fro Bintulu and the airport, I can say that the vehicles are queued by the roadside for about 2 – 3 km long!

Well, as usual, the (Dayak) BN leaders would dismiss such visit as “no(n)sense”. Let them be reminded that IF the Dayaks and others are united in one voice, for sure they (the BN leaders) would beg around next time!

Well, Dr. JBA, I’m so sorry for not been able to greet you. If you can refresh your memory, then it would be fine, lah… Even to Mr. President (of USA (B)), Borneo Warrior and others, I’ll just ignore them – unless if they know me, lah

Eh, next time, I better get my Elvis’ suit; so whenever you meet someone who is looks like Elvis Presley, that guy couldn’t be Tiyung Dayak… He could be one of those Elvis Presley’s impersonators… Yes, he could be Joe Nakal Stay Young or someone else…

L.O.L.!!!

Let’s “hound dog”, Doc!

My Malaysian Indian friend and former U-mate, who is currently doing his Ph.D. “Down Under” sent me this Elvis’ E-card cum Valentine’s Day greeting this afternoon! Yup, both of us are Elvis Presley’s not-so-great fans, lah… But then, both of us currently “growsideburn at our own backyard, lah… Heh! Well, take a look at the following e-card that he sent me:

The good old days for the family - Elvis, Priscilla and their baby daughter - Lisa Marie...

The good old days for the family - Elvis, Priscilla and their baby daughter - Lisa Marie...

Well, take a closer look… I know that Dyaksblog is another secret fan of Elvis Presley, right…?!

Just in case if you don’t know who Elvis was, click here.

And what’s (a) hound dog?! Here! So, let’s “hound doglah… I mean, “go hunting” instead of “window shopping“…

RM4.0 million?! Better than nothing, lah!

Rumors are crisscrossing all over the beautiful country this morning that Najip is going to “hand overRM4.0 million to the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) – today – during his state visit to Kuching, lah! How true it is, you and I don’t know! Well, it’s Sarawak’s oil and timber monies, anyway!

It makes me wonder: how the money is going to be “wisely” spent by the Bidayuh top brass – IF and IF this rumor will turn out to be true… Yup, I’m sure that it would be more than enough to bail out the failedbudget hotel” business in the city… Aiya!

Well, a rumor is a rumor, but then, it could be a BIG tumor! I mean, if it is true, it would then be a major headache for those who are going to manage it. What kind of projects, etc. Yup, there will be a financial audit by the year end, right!?

As part of the rumor, Najip now knows that the Dayak Bidayuhs really “exist” in Sarawak… And prior to that, he just memorized “Dayak Ibans and Kadazans” in his “pea sized” brain…

L.O.L.!!!

A paparazzo’s “breaking” story…

I just want to share with my readers our beloved cat’s combo photos… Wouldn’t it be nice if all of us can “transform” ourselves into this cat – just like what are being shown in the photos below?! I mean, we should find the quiet place, the resting moment to relax our mind, body and soul – doing nothing – just relaxing and away from the “plug and play” hassles!

In the photos shown below, it’ll show us that one does not necessarily find a comfy bed to lie on. See, the cat is just relaxing on top of the door frame and getting bZzz (busy)… Well, some might say that some of the OKBs (Orang Kaya Barus) are not able to sleep well on their comfy beds as they have lots of worries “haunting” them back… Is that true?! Hmmmphhh!

Yaaawwwnnn... It's time to relax, lah!

Yaaawwwnnn... It's time to relax, lah!

Aiyaaa... Hopefully there will be a she-cat around, lah... Yaaaawwwnnn!

Aiyaaa... Hopefully there will be a she-cat around, lah... Yaaaawwwnnn!

Yup... Sorry, folks! I'm bZzz (busy)...

Yup... Sorry, folks! I'm bZzz (busy)...

bZzz... Owh, she-cat, where are you now???

bZzz... Owh, she-cat, where are you now???

Anyway, our cat is originally named “Blue Tooth – The Cat“, but then, it was changed to “Brutus – The Cat“! Yup, for the sake of easy pronunciation, bah! Talking about Brutus, some of you might remember Shakespeare’s “Et tu, Bruté?“, right…

And in another “development“, there’s another little known happening in the Rejang River recently. The news can be found in Utusan Sarawak’s yesterday’s edition (February 11, 2009). I’ll try to get the news in digital form if it is available. For the time being, I’ll link my readers to this weblog, but then, no details have been given! Yup, here’s another weblog. Well, I’m not sure whether “the thing” is real or not… The obvious reason is that the unknown river shown in the photo(s) IS NOT muddy!

Wow! Imagine how our “Gorgeous Ladies” will take their pose…

Try to imagine how Aunts Jin, Fatty Rose, Rela and M. P. Young will look like if they are going to pose themselves during the photo-shooting session, just like what the gorgeous Michelle Obama did for Vogue magazine recently!

Everyday “Wo Ai Ni”, what…!?

I just got another forwarded email. It’s about the encrypted word “V.A.L.E.N.T.I.N.E.” in John 3: 16. It’s gonna be another Valentine’s Day celebration the world over! Yup, another three more days to go…

16!

The word “V.A.L.E.N.T.I.N.E.” encrypted in John 3: 16!

Well, there’s no need to spend (more) on expensive flowers, gifts, dinners, etc. Phone calls to and fro your loved ones will do! And that’s what “Love is in the air” for, right!?

And of course, as Valentine’s Day is an annual “celebration of love“, some people might take this opportunity to “pro-create” (I mean, getting married or engaged, lah!) or celebrate their wedding anniversary, birthday, etc. In fact, my brother was born on Valentine’s Day. And then, a friend of mine is getting engaged this Saturday, February 14, 2009 – to be done after so much “negotiations” have been carried out – I think! Anyway, life ain’t easy, right… With God’s graces, may the new couple lead a “Happy Ever After” life, lah.

Well, “Happy Valentine’s Day” to all of you!

By the way, if you are interested to learn something on Biblical Codes – click here, here, here and here. It’s interesting, though…

Ye-olde news cutting…

The following news cutting is worth reading. Luckily, I’ve made a photocopy of it and it is now available in digital form. Well, you can get additional information on the same subject in here. I hereby would like to wish “All the best!” to Dr. Patau Rubis and his team.

Cream of the Crop…?!

Everyone knows what “cream of the crop” is all about. Well, just in case if you don’t know, it means “the best of a particular group (or person)“. The etymology is based on the idea that “cream is the best part of milk“…

Well, this isn’t the motive of today’s article. Few days ago I got a forwarded email from a friend of mine. It’s about health hazard posed by instant coffee mixed with artificial, non-dairy creamer (made from oil palm-based product).

The 3 in 1 instant coffee is bad for our health (actually!), as it will affect our heart and kidneys. So, if you are a regular (3 in 1) instant coffee drinker, I would like to suggest that you should abandon your habit. I used to be an instant coffee drinker, but I have stopped from being one. Well, after I drank the 3 in 1 instant coffee, I do feel a “burnin’-like” sensation within my chest and sometimes my kidneys complained of “uneasiness“.

Anyway, I’m still a coffee drinker – but not on a regular basis. I usually buy the powdered, real coffee beans from sundry shop. Yup, I’m a regular tea drinker. Owh, by the way, if you are a tea drinker and want to learn the trick in becoming “thrifty“, get a pack or two of LIPTON tea bags (I’m yet to check on BOH and SARI WANGI tea bags). For LIPTON tea bags, you can cut each of the tea bag into half (I mean, cut into two parts – do have a closer look at individual tea bag, as it is “folded” into a triangle form). Well, the brewed tea bag (in original form) is too strong… So, instead of having a stock of 25 tea bags kept inside the tea jar, you’ll “double” the tea stock, lah! Eh, sounds like having another Boston Tea Party… L.O.L.!!!

And, in case if you can’t leave your habit in drinking coffee or tea without a “creamer“, I would like to suggest that you should buy the “real” – packed or bottled milk. Well, I don’t like to drink coffee or tea mixed with milk or non-dairy creamer, as my urine would be “smellybah… Haha!

Quaker Oat??? Yup, I’ll get one next time. Last night, while having our “ai’ rebena Peter Vella” session (it’s Chap Goh Meh vs. Thaipusam celebration, anyway!), a friend of mine has told me that Quaker Oat is effective in absorbing cholesterol from our blood stream, and thus, protecting our heart… Read these comments for details.

Of course, this article could be part of “propaganda” in demoting and promoting certain products, but then, the choice is yours to decide!

Happy drinking, folks!

Owh, by the way, Peter Vella red wine is great!
