Tiyung Dayak – “The Sour Dayak Apple” in Bidayuh Politics

For the Greater Glory of Bidayuh Politics

Bawak bertenang, Pa’ Chik…

Dear Pa’ Chik Dawos,

We (yes, “we”) are hereby refer to your statement below, as published in today’s Borneo Post, April 14, 2009 Edition. Thanks anyway for sharing your grouses with us.

Our dearest Pa’ Chik Dawos, you are not alone, and we do understand and share the common problem for being unable to get jobs in the public service… Yes, it’s true that we do shed the crocodile tears since you are not given any of the spoon-fed jobs (tissue paper, please…). But then, you are luckier than some of us, as you got the state job(s). Be thankful to Allah for it, as you still got bountiful monthly allowance.

How about some of us, as the majority of us are still unable to get stable jobs? We would like to get decent jobs and incomes to improve our livelihood. How are we going to survive with low paying jobs – with an average monthly income less than RM1,000.00? We are hoping that you and other Dayak YBs would play some important roles in pushing both fed and state gomens to open more jobs in the public service for all Malaysians, especially Sarawakians. You have voiced your concern about the inequality of 1Malaysia concept. Sound fishy?! Get some apples! You and we knew that such concept is kind of a recycled concept, so you and we are not impressed at all! Or have you?

So, is that what you are been paid for – all this while? Good for you, Pa’ Chik Dawos… Keep the fighting spirit lives on. If not then, we would agree to the SMSes sent to you earlier (not by us) that you, Riot and Tiki should resign from all the party (including other) posts, so as to enable another new buy-elections. How about that? Are you thinking that the three of you are indispensable? What a joke!

By the way, it’s pathetic to read your following statement: “My political career started with BN and will end in BN“.

Really?! We have NO FURTHER COMMENT on that! Tao sama tao saja lah…

Map reading 101…

Well, I guess that you do remember my first tutorial on Geography 101, right…

Anyway, I’m not going to give a tutorial on map reading, as suggested by the above title. I’m just sharing with you that the following travel map guide is awesome and affordable – especially for those avid explorers/adventurers!

The PERIPLUS Sarawak map…

The PERIPLUS Sarawak map…

For more experience explorers/adventurers, ummm… like myself, I would prefer topographical maps with map scales 1:100,000, 1:50,000 and 1:10,000; including a GPS device, a laptop with broadband connection (for Google Earth scanning), a (Suunto) wristop (for ABC – Altitude, Barometer, Compass), few bottles of Tsingtao tea, etc. An additional clinometer would be an advantage to guesstimate the height of, let say, the telecommunication tower in … Ooops!

L.O.L.!!!

Nay, I’m damn serious! It’s good to know the area beforehand, right! Anyway, I’m not sure whether our Dayak parliamentarians/assemblymen have in-depth knowledge on every nook and corner of their respective constituencies…

Yup, some of these fat, old and lazy YBs are only on activation mode once the buy election is just around the corner. But then, I think most of the time they will rely on “RSS Feed” from their respective JASA (“Special Function(s)“) officers!

Were you there, Dyaksblog?

Wahlau wéh… I’m eager to meet these Dayak Elvises and get their autographs – to be signed on my shirt – in the future!

Not just smart, but go on high tech!

Wahlau wéh… how I wish that our future farmers are smart and techno-savvy… I made a wild guess that Salako Bato and Malaysia Digest are currently involve in this kind of program… Are you guys in the first cohort?! It’s good, for you guys didn’t survive on a 2-minute instant noodles dietary, lah!

By the way, I’m thinking of establishing a tiyung dayak farm in the future – by emulating the following principle/example…

Thanks, but NO!, George!

Yes, George did it again – as reported at the front page of yesterday’s Borneo Post! It’s fine and it doesn’t matter whether the Dayak Bidayuh MPs have delivered 100% of the seats to BN or not.

Nay, a federal post is just nothing if you can’t deliver any progress to your respective constituency, isn’t it? They (I mean those Dayak MPs) are just puppets (deputies), while their master puppets (fool ministers, partying presidents, etc.) control everything!

It’s just like when(ever) you apply for an IRPA (Intensified Research in Priority Areas) grant, it won’t be guaranteed that whether you can get it or not from MoSTI, lah… Your project proposal(s) should be in (a) working condition…

Thanks for the lobbying job (?) done, George! I don’t think the Bidayuh people will take (a) riot into the street just because all their MPs were not given any of the Federal post! Anyway, the path is now slowly being cleared of lallangs… Now it’s time (to burn the lallangs) for Getah Kawén Masing planting project(s)… Nay, that’s a lie!

Think about it!

I was stunned when I was told that one of our Indonesian workers had contracted venereal disease this morning! Well, I had a look at his and others’ medical reports and, wahlau wéh!

How did they contract the disease? The obvious reason was through illicit sexual relations, lah!

Yup, it’s true that MONEY can buy everything (including monkey love) but not love and health…

Click the following link for further information on the origin and history of AIDS.

And here’s another interesting “breakthrough” in science: Barter trading

So, please STOP MONKEYING AROUND, as it will do you no good, lah! I know that one of our Dayak MPs used to monkeying around last time – see what has happened to him now! Poor boy…

A day to remember…

Yup, today is Good Friday – April 10, 2009! But then, most of us have sort of “battle fatigue” due to April 07, 2009 b(u)y-election in N. 29 Batang Ai, right… To some people, it could be a day of victory or a day of defeat. Me?! It could be both. It could be “victorious” for bloggers for all “the hard work” done and a “defeat” as ICT technology wasn’t working well, especially in the interior. Well, I’m apolitical as I’m not a member of any party and I will not join as a member – dari dulu, hingga kini dan selamanya, lah!

So, as BN rules in N. 29 Batang Ai, I do hope that Mr. Joseph Salang Gandum, who is in-charge of ICT-thing, will fulfill his RM12 million ICT development promise for N. 29 Batang Ai. Well, the reason is simple – we are living in the 21st century and people in the most remote area need faster communication link with each other, just like better access (link) roads, other amenities, etc.

Talking about ICT technology, I can say that the technology evolves all the time. During the recent election, we have live telecast on what had happened on the ground. Well, thanks to CoveritLive.com and Linasoo.com for enabling the on-site live coverage on April 07, 2009 – all the way from Lubok Antu. Below are some of the transcripts transpired on that day. Have a look…

In addition, I’ve done some simple maths, as shown below. Anyway, I’m not compelled to discuss the results, as it has been discussed by other “Sarawakian” bloggers. To refresh your memory on statistics, kindly log on to http://www.usablestats.com.

Ladies and Gentlemen, our GNP as forecasted in Q1 2009 …

Nay… I’m just clearing my throat, actually! Yup, I’m still practicing and improving my oratory skills for my public presentation. Last week I gave two PowerPoint presentations to a group of visiting students. So far so good. As usual, I put some “clean” jokes, so as to make them awake.

Graphical presentation – it is! Normally I put graphic images and try to explain to the best of my knowledge. How about bluffing? Well, yeah… a little bit! But then, we (yes, you and I lah) have to know who our audience is… I do prefer graphical presentation to textual presentation. If we rely too much on text, then we tend to read the text on the screen – together with our audience. So, the better way is to put some “bullet points” and “elaboration” is all ours!

The best way is that we have got to know well our subject matter and be prepared for the “shootout“… Otherwise, we would be like Solomon:Err… Uhmmn… Aaa… Huh?! I’ll check with my boss, first!

Practice makes perfect and do try our best!
